keeping it positive and in perspective

i’m not interested in competing with anyone, I hope we all make it. -Erica Cook

{have you noticed i like long titles?]

all too often we get caught up in the *should’s*; what our lives *should* look like, our practice, our vacations etc. when what we really need is to slow down, breathe, and take time for some self care.

for the first time since kai bear (to be further called bear, just like Aide-bug is known as bug… yes, bug & bear, but i digress 😉  ), i feel like there is some semblance of balance in my days and life. over the last few months, Nancy  and i have been hustling to get eight limb life’s new course launched and it finally is LIVE. All the hard work at the time felt like it would never end and in the last week, my mantra became “we are almost there/done”. Keeping positive and things in perspective helped me stay focused and tackle what needed to be done in the moment. sometimes it was focusing on the boys, others it was editing font size, both required my attention and presence. just like on the mat, in our practice we are always asking ourselves to be present and focused.

IMG_2065mama-hood to bug & bear is wonderful and all the yoga work helps me be a better mama as well as gives me something to show the boys. something i can build for myself and for them too. they can see how mama’s get it done 😉

not only did the course launch, but some other projects have started to come down the pipeline like a yama & niyamas workshop, working on some mentorships, which reminds me of all the other ideas i want to work on. there is balance, but it means giving my attention to what is needed in the moment. to be clear on what actually needs to be taken care of. i’m so excited for all that is in the works. i’m so excited to get to spend time with the boys when i’m not working on projects. i’m excited to spend time working on videos and other awesome things for y’all!

life. it’s amazing, hard, scary, and lovely all in the breath.

  1. Hi Liz. I love that last line. Life most definitely is all of that, isn’t it? 🙂
Congratulations on the launch and congratulations on finding that glimpse of balance. My little ones are 3 and 1 and I am just starting to feel it too. It’s a beautiful thing. I’m glad to have found your site. It’s always so wonderful to find other mamas who are following their dreams while raising their families…and being honest about the intensity of all of it. Looking forward to getting to know you more.

    1. Ah yea Catherine!! two kiddos definitely makes me crave a little balance and a positive mindset. hope you enjoy looking around and it is lovely to meet you!
