about

Hey y’all! My name is Liz.
errr-mouthI have been teaching yoga since 2010, but have been practicing for over 20 years. As a restorative yoga teacher, writer, and mama in Austin, TX, I work hard to create a community that feels connected to each other and themselves. My carefully crafted classes include a loving blend of restorative and yin yoga, myofascial release, along with space to come “home” to your body. The soft surrender of restorative offer yogis a chance to leave class feeling energized and supported. Classes often feel like a community and students are often surprised with home cooked goodies after long relaxing Savannas. Our time on the mat together is about refocusing the mind to be present and shift towards the positive as well as making peace with our bodies as they are. We keep things playful, fun, challenging, and always full of laughter!
I have studied with viniyoga teachers and am currently in a mentorship with Elena Brower and I pull insight and inspiration: from poetry, sensations we want to feel, a healthy connection to source, music, and a desire to be really present with the life we are living.
I have been featured in OM Yoga Magazine with a prenatal sequence and have been highlighted in Origin Magazine. I am the co-author of “The Living Mala” and  “The Living Mantra” as well as the author of “Restore Yourself“, my first solo book all about using restorative yoga as a way to come back to yourself. When I am not teaching yoga, you can find me with my family, where there is good coffee, good friends, toy trucks and a body of water!

”I offer you peace. I offer you love. I offer you friendship. I see your beauty. I hear your need. I feel your feelings. My wisdom flows from the Highest Source. I salute that Source in you. Let us work together for unity and love.” ~ Gandhi

      1. Of course! A little down dog can make you feel taller, feel calmer, and make you stronger! And that’s just one pose, so 15 minutes if that’s all you have is better than no yoga 🙂

  1. So, I was reading some posts on your blog. Then I read your “about page”. So I clicked over to some of the other places you said you can be found. The last one I looked at has your full name. I used to baby sit a little girl with your name. Did you every live in California? Sometimes it is a small world. 🙂

      1. Yes. I knew it. You look like your mom! My mom and your mom were friends. I don’t even remember how they became friends, but I used to baby sit you. How funny I just did a search on WordPress for “yoga” your site came up. I started reading it. Small world! I was sad when your mom’s life took her out of ours. Ya know? Life does that. Friends sometimes go different ways. We (my mom and I) were sad. We missed you and your family!
